In 2017 the former elephant exhibit at the Fresno Zoo became an Indian rhino exhibit. This exhibit was built in 1982 and housed Asian elephants from then until early 2017. The last elephants were a pair of elderly females; one died and the other moved to the Los Angeles Zoo.
