Masses of frogspawn in my garden pond in Paignton. The frogs started spawning on 26 January this year. Over the last 11 years, the start dates have ranged from 8 January to 19 February. As usual, I've had to put a net over the pond as the gulls get too interested in it all - hence the reflection.
I was just thinking about frogspawn today,! as I wasa working near one of the many ponds in one of my gardens, which has up to 200 clumps each year, but as the temps are only at +2oc today.It will be a while before the frogs venture out.
