Future Japanese Macaque Exhibit

July 5th, 2012.
The new $4.6 million Japanese Macaque exhibit and entrance area has now been unveiled to the public, and on the link below there is an article and a series of photos. Photo #2 gives the best overview of the habitat and to be honest it looks quite nice, with a pool running along the front where the large viewing windows are. Great Plains is the first of several North American zoos that are adding Japanese Macaques within the next few years, but at the moment only 13 zoos throughout the entire continent display the species.
