Another very attractive and unusual guenon taxon displayed at Magdeburg, I was rather taken by how small the Talapoin were; barely as large as the Midas Tamarin in the neighbouring enclosure!
However, close examination of the animals easily revealed their true affinities, as they looked very much like dwarf forms of the Allen's Swamp Monkey. Considering how small this species is, it is a shame it is not more popular in captive collections as I would imagine it is somewhat easier to keep when compared with larger guenons.
