Gazella gazella acaciae (habitat), Southern Negev, 16-10-2010.

These are the few hammada desert mountain gazelle left in southern Israel. It is a relict population that has been largely hunted out in the region. They are completely absent from southern Jordan nowadays - for all I know -. The majority of ungulates in the border regions remain dorcas gazelle .... Save for the reintroduced population of Arabian oryx on the Israeli side of the border.
