This place looks fantastic. I love the contrast between the basic fencing and paths in comparison to the huge, lush paddocks and very nice (if very non-commercial) species line-up. A true hidden gem brought to light but your photos and @lintworm's review in the 50 Must See Zoos thread.
@Brum It's a really very pleasant place to spend a day. It must surely be the least 'commercial' 'big' zoo I've visited - it almost has the feel of being a private collection. On a weekday there were decent numbers of other visitors, but so spread out that you only noticed them around the café, or when a talk/feed was imminent. It clearly exists for the ungulates, and gives rather the impression that most of the other species are there to stop visitors asking for big cats and monkeys as much as anything..!
