Opened in 1991 by Jane Goodall, the Ape house has housed gorillas since then. The gorilla troop has successfully become a breeding troop again in 2013. The first time a baby gorilla had been born in Belfast in 16 years. The gorilla house has leaves painted on the windows for privacy.
