@Tim May How do these dioramas compare to others you have seen ? From the little that I've seen on zoochat gallery they sort of stylistically appear to be like those at the Powell Cotton Museum.

@Onychorhynchus coronatus
The African dioramas in the Bonn Museum don't compare to those in New York (but then nowhere could possibly compete with those).

Neveretheless, they are very fine dioramas that I like very much. I agree they are reminiscent of those in the Powell Cotton Museum although, unlike at the Powell Cotton Museum, they are not behind glass which makes photography easier.

(The Bonn Museum also has a selection of live reptiles, amphibians and fishes on display.)

@Tim May Oh I totally agree, the AMNH dioramas are indeed incomparable.

I see, that is interesting and actually that is one of the difficulties with the Powell Cotton museum and particularly for photography, all that glass and reflections (though I know there is need of it).

That is also interesting to hear, I always like Natural history museums that have live displays.
