Large fish, typically growing over two feet in length, and which are considered among the largest aquatic residents of a typical fish aquarium.
Pacus, arowana, arapaima, ripsaw catfish and redtail catfish are a few examples (some of which are displayed here).
Typically these are seen in public aquaria as donated/rescue animals having been unwittingly bought when they were just a few inches long and then continued to grow - which is a small part of the reason I chose to use the term 'giant' here.
