Doue was the first zoo worldwide, where a pair of giant otters reared their very first litter successfully (Chestnut has followed since). Historically, first litters have always died.
The excellent conditions for the otters at Doue certainly play an important part in this success. A second litter, born last summer, was also reared successfully.

Absolutely ! It's right this exhibit is absolutely extraordinary (like the rest of the zoo...!)
