Giant Pacific gecko

Gehyra vorax, in spite of its common name this not a very large gecko, but it is not a very common one. Apologies for the horrible colour gf the fake rock. Reptile Tropics, Paignton, 9th October 2015

I think this is actually Gehyra marginata, which is commonly traded as vorax.

Both species reach almost a foot in total length, so I wouldn't say "not a very large gecko"!

I can't argue with this; but I am going by the zoo's name which is, of course, repeated on Zootierliste. The two specimens on display are only about 20 cm in total length but I believe the zoo breeds this species so I presume they are adult. They are certainly smaller and more delicate than many of the tokays I have seen.

A friend of mine used to have a male which was about the size of a large male tokay- sadly I don't have any pictures.
Great picture of a gorgeous lizard! You just can't beat gecko eyes!

I doubt there are many true vorax in Europe. This one definitely isn't vorax but I'm not sure if there are other similar species to marginata so I wouldn't want to say it is one for sure.
