Giant Pacific Octopus Exhibit

March 5th, 2011.
The aquarium recently released an octopus back into the wild (which drew a surprisingly large crowd) and there is currently a solitary female on exhibit. The enclosure to the right is huge for an octopus, and there are starfish, fish and anemones alongside the main attraction. The octopus has access to the tunnel in the middle, and the tank on the left is the smaller of the two. When the aquarium has more than one octopus then the middle tunnel is closed off and there are two separate exhibits, but for now the female has full access to the entire area.

What a brilliant way to show off natural behavior and interest small children. Well done Seattle.
