I don't remember Giraffe being in their original plans for the 'Conservation Park'. However 'Wild Place' is a smaller scale replacement/first phase so may not develop along the same lines species-wise as was originally planned.
If the giraffe are to share the 'African Plains' exhibit with the zebra and eland then I assume the new House will be built on an area of land opposite the current ( original Giraffe ) House , adjoining the Lemurs Walk-Through . The current zebra and eland paddock is not very big though and there does not appear to be anywhere to extend it .
I wonder why they have elected to have Giraffe at this stage, with the need to fundraise to build a house for them- there must be many other species they could obtain and build enclosures for at far lower cost.
I'm sure I read last week, that they have raise circa 168k as of last week. Still quite a way to go. I wonder whether plans will change if they don't soon raise the 750k.
