A prairie bison (Bison bison bison) inside the North American drive-through exhibit on the Safari Route in Givskud Zoo. This exhibit also houses wapiti (Cervus canadensis).
The Safari Route opened in 1972 and was completely restructured in 1991. After the restructuring it consisted of six drive-through enclosures, one of which was later scrapped to make way for the gorillas and one is no longer drive-through. Currently it consists of one Pampas, one Prairie and two savannahs, one non-drive-through savannah and the lion enclosure.
