Glossy-mantled manucode (Manucodia ater ater)

Another very nice addition! Likely the first of its species in public captivity in two decades, after the last male in San Diego Zoo died in 2009 (According to Zootierliste). While not the first and only manucode species currently present in Indonesian collection (Taman Safari Bogor have manucodia chalybatus off-display), its still a good sight and shows the full interest of Jagat Satwa Nusantara in getting to know elusive native birds.

Nominate subspecies from parts of New Guinea, except the southeast Papuan Peninsula. This subspecies are more greenish-blue with a very faint shade of purple.
