Like any major city zoo, Edinburgh has good parts and bad parts. Overall I would rate it as a mediocre zoo, although the zebra/kudu/nyala field at the top of the hill is outstanding. The big cat cages are too small and outdated, which probably diminished my enjoyment since I am a cat fanatic.
I did not meet any ZooChatters. Two in Scotland had sent me a PM a few months ago about meeting at Edinburgh, but then I never heard back.

AD, at the risk of going slightly off-topic what did you make of Highland Wildlife Park and WHF? And were there any particular stand out moments from your trip? It'd be great if you could write up a full report...
Highland Wildlife Park is nice, but not as nice as I had anticipated. Still definitely worth seeing and I like going through a drive thru that focuses on Eurasian animals instead of the usual African animals.
Heritage Wildlife Foundation is great and the photo tour is definitely worthwhile if you are a cat fanatic like me.
