Golden Conure - 12/10/2011

Golden conure (Guaruba guarouba) in one of the off-show aviaries... as seen from the new tiger viewing platform.

I checked this view out for myself today. I saw the two pairs of Queen of Bavaria's conures shown here. In the aviary between them, there was pair of Amazons - I think they were lilacine, but I didn't have a very good view and I didn't bother to shoot a frame.

Next time I'm going up there with a tripod and 800mm - identifying the birds in the aviaries is actually more exciting than looking at a dozing tiger.

Maybe you could ask the people in the house to give you a wave while you are at it.
