Golden Lion Tamarin

Americas Pavilion
I see one stopped long enough for you to take a photo. How big is baby now?

The baby was a lot bigger than it was before, but is still smaller than the other adults. It kept trying to chase this adult tamarin away while I was taking this picture.

I wonder if more little ones are on their way. Tamarins can give birth every 6 months and the baby was born in mid June if I remember right.

I was surprised to see how big the baby has gotten. Nearly full size now, although you can still see the size difference.

They would have to grow fast if mom and dad would be close to welcoming new siblings within six months of their birth. They are quick little breeders.
