Young adult male, Skiffia francesae.
This species is on display in the first tank in the Aquarium, together with graphics about the reintroduction of captive bred specimens to their natural habitat in Mexico. This species was described in 1978, but it was thought to be extinct in the wild by 2008. Fortunately, like many of the Goodeids, it does well in aquaria and it was reintroduced recently. Tropiquaria keeps many endangered Goodeids.
