Is Gondwanaland now officially the largest indoor rainforest on the planet? I've heard that phrase in conjunction with Omaha's Lied Jungle, Burgers' Bush, Zurich's Masoala and now Leipzig's gargantuan addition. Would it be accurate to say that those 4 rainforest complexes are the largest to be found in the zoos of the world? Of more interest is that the selections come from 4 different nations: U.S.A., Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
This is the largest in the world. with over 15000 square meters, followed by Masaola, then Burgers zoo and Lied jungles being the "smallest" of the four
Here are the sizes I did using google earth.
Zoo Leipzig- 4.24 acres or 17,000 sq meters
Burgers Zoo- 3.33 acres or 13,470 sq meters
Masaola at Zoo Zurich- 2.81 acres or 11,300 sq meters
Lied Jungle at the Omaha zoo- 1.35 acres or 5,400 sq meters
- So Zoo leipzig's is more than 3 times the size of americas largest Lied Jungle.

Burgers Bush is 13.500 m2 (90x150), height of 9 meters is incorrect, that is about the roof construction, I believe the height is up to over 20 metres (the waterfall already is 17 meters high), but in some area it is only +-4 meters
- The reason you list burgers bush as much larger is the fact that I only measured the domed area and that figure includes the normal building area that is attached to the glass area.
