Gorilla enclosure - Sep 2008

I'm really glad they opened this viewing area up. It's the most open part of the exhibit and you can see right over the top part of the exhibit.

I always thought Melbourne's enclosure had too few viewing areas round the perimeter- a lot of walking along the paths without being able to see into the enclosure and everyone crowding into one or two viewing areas. So its sensible to have created another one.

this viewing point has always been there, only it was off the main path and most people walked straight past the path leading to it.

it also has been cleared of much vegetation. so its not quite as rainforesty as it used to be.
