A schedule showing which gorillas are on exhibit in which habitats on which days of the week. This schedule is apparently in place partially because the gorillas are still getting accustomed to the new outdoor area.
This was my first time visiting the zoo since Gorilla Grove opened a month ago, and I was hoping that the gorillas would be more accustomed to the new habitat by now. It's funny, because I'd expect the gorillas to prefer the new outdoor area (with real sunlight and fresh air) to the old indoor area, but this does not seem to be the case.
I wonder how long it will take for the gorillas to get used to the new outdoor space, or if they will continue to prefer the indoor area into the foreseeable future.
@ZooElephantsMan when I was there Sunday, I saw two Gorillas outside (Joe and one of the girls), and none inside. It surprised me I didn't see more (regardless of which exhibit), because I'm not aware of anywhere the gorillas could've been hiding. Went through the exhibit multiple times throughout the visit too. It was definitely a good addition to the zoo though, and greatly improves the zoo's gorilla habitats into one of the better ones I've seen!
