That is quite possibly the ugliest Gorilla I've ever seen. But as we were alway's taught to say as children, "he can't help how he look's." Or maybe I should quote the other one, "if you can't say something nice about someone, then don't say anything at all."
It is an old female (in her 40's?), possibly the oldest of the 11 gorillas at the Woodland Park Zoo. She has strangely stout, short arms and legs and definitely stands out from the rest of the apes in the troop.
Just like an elderly female Orangutan at the L.A. Zoo. She was born with both mental and physical handicaps. And I guess age take's a tool on all of us; humans and apes.
