Claus(left) came from Cologne, via Paignton.
Undi(middle) came from Cologne where she was born.
Salome(right)came from Chessington, was born at London but conceived at Bristol.
This group, the first to use the new Gorilla Island exhibit, were a unit only for a couple of years. During that time Claus and Undi had one baby- Djengi, male- that was handraised at Stuttgart after his mother died. He died as an adult in a bachelor group (Schmiding?) quite recently. Claus then died also. Only Salome is still in the current group.
The big Horse Chestnut tree on Claus' right has since been pollarded, and the windbreak shelter much favoured by the Gorillas is now a feature in front of it.
