Gray Wolf subspecies I.D

This is a gray wolf from last week at the Detroit Zoo. I sadly don't know the subspecies.

Since it is clearly not a Mexican wolf, it is most likely a hybrid. In the United States, the only subspecies that is managed is the Mexican wolf. It is possible that an orphaned wild wolf would be put in a facility, which would make it a particular subspecies. However in general all non-Mexican wolves in USA are hybrids. Some of them even have domestic dog blood in them.
