August 2018. One of the four new nominate Greater birds-of-paradise in the small "Tropicalia" greenhouse. I was in the park until the evening today and tested my luck with the door to the tropical house these were in, and upon finding it open had to try some low light photography! #pairidaiza

Quite - but at the same time I believe they are supposedly the mainland subspecies rather than Aru, and Aru is the nominate... so someone has made an error with their ID one way or another.

Because I'd been given to understand that all but two or three of the birds that originally came out of Al-Wabra were mainland, and that the Aru had subsequently died. Of course, if the birds in question are indeed Aru this is no bad thing whatsoever ;)
