He was an impressive animal for sure. Sad part of a kudu's live is they tend to be short lived. A male on average makes it to 6-7 years old and will usually max out at 15. Females fair slightly better at 9 years but can max out around 20. Even Owen's boys, Ogeden and Odin, are in that average end of life span for a male kudu. Hopefully a replacement will be sent up who can breed with the girls.
