Actually the green jays were in the adjacent aviary with the curassow until that pair died. They're now in the aviary with the macaws.

Which correct me if I am wrong is part of the Mythical Macaws complex!!!

I cannot even remember when macaws were in there - always the Golden (Queen of Bavarian) conure, and then the blue-throated conure for a while too. This was the 'mythical macaws' opened in 2004, but the zoo has not referred to it as such for a LONG time.

The green jays were first brought in and indeed bred in the former Golden Conure aviary, now housing just the red-billed curassow. They are now kept with the blue-throated macaw, which formerly held Azara;s agouti and red-tailed amazon parrots, the latter went to Beauval a year or two I think. Stunning and very endangered parrots.
