I got very lucky. While walking along a path I heard a rustling in the leaves and this snake came around the base of a tree chasing a skink. It seemed to lose track of it and sat up, eventually saw the skink and caught it. It immediately started to swallow it on the ground (and I've got several other pictures upload showing that), but when I moved to try and get a better angle the snake suddenly realised it wasn't dining alone, stopped the swallowing process and reared up like this. After I took this photo it turned and took off into the grass to finish its meal alone.

Very nice. I have seen diamondbacks and coachwhips a couple times here, but never making or eating a kill.
