The east coast's biggest Grey Seal (Haliochoerus grypus) colony, with nearly 1500 pups born last season. In November and December there are huge numbers of seals very easily viewable from a pathway along the dunes - and many are very close.

I used to visit a very small Grey Seal colony in Norfolk - a long walk along the beach but no barriers or anything, about twelve cows and pups most years and a few big bulls. There was no wardening apparent but they seemed perfectly able to withstand any human disturbance or see off any curious dogs but I don't know how the pups fared if the mothers went to the sea.
