Grizzled Tree Kangaroo Exhibit

August 20, 2024
A very huge space for what appears to be just a single animal, this was formerly one of the macaques exhibit anyway.

Was the exhibit and the tree-kangaroo signed?

@Rizz Carlton There was no sign on this exhibit and other than a Sunda Porcupine, this solitary Grizzled Tree Kangaroo was the only non-primate mammal in the entire Primate Center. For sure, this animal must be a placeholder for some macaque or other monkey species.

@snowleopard I see. FYI after finding out you and @twilighter had found Ragunan's tree-kangaroo, I reminded of a post on Instagram by one of the zoo's staff of an grizzled tree-kangaroo that was supposedly in there that dated back all the way to February of 2023. The background shown in the photo looks familiar as with this exhibit (Will be posting about it in the Indonesian history/lost media thread).

It safe to say that they have an grizzled tree-kangaroo under our nose for a year now! Not helping that it was most likely never even signed. All those visits this years and always passing this thinking it was empty :(
