This would rate right up there, if not surpass the Woodland Park Zoo, for outstanding Grizzly habitat wouldn't you say snowleopard?

I would personally prefer the grizzly habitats at Woodland Park Zoo and Minnesota Zoo, even though they are smaller in size. At those two zoos there is underwater viewing and the public can get within a couple of inches of the massive bears via glass viewing windows. At Northwest Trek the enclosure is probably a couple of acres in size but the bears can easily ramble off beneath the trees and it makes it tricky to see them.

They are very different... each excellent in their way, but they create entirely different (and equally satisfying) experiences for the visitor.
In short, this exhibit may create a more "authentic" experience of catching sight of bears in the forest, but then Woodland Park's gives a more exciting experience of the bears themselves.

I have no problem with Woodland Park's Grizzly habitat remaining at the top, having seen it back in 1996. One of the most naturalistic looking habitats I had ever seen anywhere. It brought back memories of my trip to Yellowstone National Park in 1968. That's just how well done it is.
