Most (all?) UK zoo cuscuses are kept in diurnal exhibits and are generally very sleepy, with a bad case of 'ball-of-fur-in-a-box' syndrome. Cotswold's single animal on the other hand is very lively and it's rare not to find see it active during a visit.
But yes, on this occasion I think the food had something to do with it!
They actually have two specimens now, one by the exit of the Tropical House and one on the car park side of the walled garden's wall. Both slept through the whole of my visit on Wednesday (10 to 5). I have never seen one active, so I am very jealous of this photo
