San Diego Zoo also used to keep Guadelupe fur seals (Arctocephalus townsendi), they are mentioned in my guide books from the 1940s and in my ZooNooz issues from the 1960s
They lived in what is now either Bear Canyon, Panda Trek, Sun Bear Forest
In fact during that time San Diego Zoo had more than 10 species of pinniped simultaneously
