First time I have heard the term Taliger. I am glad the sign clarified that they do not exist in the wild, because I was about to book my safari to go look for one.
I've never heard the term before either. A quick search on the net lists a number of different pages, most of which relate back to GW Exotic Animal Park. The only online dictionary that lists the word is urbandictionary.com, and that definition relates to an emo word.
I suppose when you breed a white tiger to a liger, you have to call the offspring something.
I wonder how they arrived at "taliger" anyway. "Liger" and "tigon" are self-explanatory, but how does "white tiger" + "liger" = "taliger"? You'd think "whiliger" would be the next name in a logical progression.

Disregarding the white part, the 'standard' name for male tiger x female liger would be a 'ti-liger'. You do have to wonder if someone's told them this over the 'phone and they've misheard...

I think the correct term would be abomination. Or monstrosity.
Here's a question: if a hybrid is the offspring of two different species (like liger and tigon), what is the offspring of two different hybrids called?
