John Tuson writes, in his 2022 book The Zoos of Great Britain and Ireland, that "The Baboon Rock display, meanwhile, has not aged so well: while it is always impressive to see a large number of Hamadryas Baboons interacting with one another, this big slab of rather desolate concrete has little to recommend it, aesthetically."
