A lot is off-show, but in terms of sheer number of taxa Pilsen have the biggest mammal, bird AND reptile collections in Europe. It's immense. And as the zoo expands and develops more and more of the species are coming on show though - there is a deliberate policy to try to get representatives of as many species as possible on show. Part of the reason for the huge collection is that they are trying to provide spaces for as many species as possible (particularly for softbills and small rodents) to keep up species diversity in Europe.
As I mentioned on another thread, it's a great example of how a zoo doesn't have to cut down on diversity to build modern exhibits if it's willing to put the effort in.
