There are only two Pyrrhura with distinct blue to wing coverts: Pearly and crimson-bellied. The belly has been skillfully p) obscured on the photo and that makes separation of the two difficult. The contrastingly white scaly hind crown is typical of these species and unlike the grayer, less contrasting pattern in green-cheeks. The blue edging to tail coverts is also typical of these two but this can occasionally be seen in green-cheeks.
