The orangs hitch a ride on a buggy back to their dens at the end of the day. One of the free-ranging areas is some distance from the den so this is the only way to get them back. I'm guessing they prefer this to walking.
Their bond with the keepers is so strong that they won't attempt to jump off and run away.
