Hillside Ornamental Fowl, Mobberley 8th May 1996

And VERY nice too:cool:

FBBird, as a man who appreciates birds and obviously knows a lot, any idea how many exotic pheasants ae held in the UK these days by private breeders?

I'm not entirely sure which of the ignita Firebacks are still around. Most of the other pheasants are still available. I'm not very well connected in the pheasant world these days, but there are definitely three species of Tragopan around, and even Imperials, which technically 'don't exist'.
The loss of reliable courier services for transporting birds has meant many pheasants and wildfowl have to be sold at auction, which wildfowl stand up to much better than pheasants.
I'm afraid I now only have Goldens & Lady Amherst's now -- and very beautiful they are too.
Re Hillside -- I sent them Germain's Peacock Pheasants back in the 90s.
