Himalayan Black Bear

Bear Country - 2010
Are you suggesting this is an actual Himalayan Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus laniger)? If so, how do you know?

And does the zoo still hold them?

I am not sure about the actual subspecies. They only have 1 specimen and he is still there as far as I know (though I last saw him in 2013)

Yup. They AZA is phasing them out so only a few zoos hold them. Roger Williams Park Zoo and Philly are the only zoos I've seen them in, though I'm sure there are others.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Denver Zoo, Henson Robinson Zoo, Little Rock Zoo, Milwaukee County Zoo, Virginia Zoo, and Zoo Miami also house this species.
