I see. Actually this photo pretty much represents the best view I got anyway, as it was behind the rock pile, looking through the door the whole time. Is the defining feature of the Tibetan Blue the golden crescent on its chest?
when I visited Shanghai Zoo I had never seen a Tibetan blue bear before, except for some footage of one in a BBC programme from years before, so I just assumed the sign was right. Once TLD had corrected me after I'd labelled my photo as such, I had a google to find out a bit more. Later I saw some real Tibetan blue bears at Chengdu Zoo.
They are really distinctive with the bluish tinge to the body, and it seems the collar and pale-reddish face are standard (but - apparently - not always present).
