Hipolit died on 1st September 2016. At that time, he was the oldest hippo male in European zoos and the last hippo at the Silesian zoo. He had come to the zoo in 1964 from the Netherlands and lived in Poland for 52 years. Unfortunately, I don't know when and where he was born.
