Historical aviary bird house, now part of Vriesland as education area, 2022-07-10

This building used to be part of a now long gone aviary, a second similar building that is now the entrance of Vriesland was the zoos' original penguin house. After the demolition of the aviary the space now occupied by Vriesland was once taken up by a shelter with a whale skeleton.
