This area, inspired by Hagenbeck, that included the aquarium, reptile house, ungulate exhibit and mountain animal exhibits, first opened in 1908. In 2010-2011 the former ungulate exhibit was renovated and repurposed to house the lions. There are still camels and sheep behind the panoramic bridge.
