Not heard of this before. Presumably they are trained from lower boards first, gradually raising the height. I wonder how willing they are to dive- or are they pushed... maybe there is a food reward when they've done it, I hope so.
To be clear I didn't see this in use and I don't read Chinese but I don't really see what other purpose this set up would serve. And it still wouldn't be the most egregious animal housing situation at this facility.
Pertinax, out of shot there is a sort of one-way crush system where the pigs have to jump down two feet to move forward so that may serve as training.
I think it has to be Pig-diving(or whatever else you want to call it,,,) Its bizarre and probably would be classed as cruel in the West, but that's China and animals for you. Its enough to arouse my rather morbid curiosity though.

I don't suppose it is really any different from sheep dipping, apart from frequency. Maybe in the name of investigative zoonerding I will make a return visit and get some pictures. I have to say I was really hoping to never give that palce my money again though...
