The Hooded Pittas in the US are not identified to subspecies level. The European population was identified as mulleri but the US stock is of untraceable origin sadly. People uploading to ZTL seem to have assumed they are the same stock as Europe's, but that is quite often not the case with many animal populations.
This is a very good photo of their Hooded Pitta! He is another shy bird and hangs out in the back of the exhibit (unless he's following the female Red Crested Woodpartridge around!).
