This is the track of a funicular train. It runs from the main plateau down to the bottom of a stunning canyon. You can either walk down and take the train back up or vice versa.
There is actually a circular loop you could walk, down one side and up the other, avoiding the railway all together, but one side was closed last summer and if you only had one day like me you'd be a bit pressed for time anyway.
