This is actually a tremendous shot, not just because of the composition but because it's almost impossible to get a good view of the birds and not have something horrible in the background.
Don't apologise SMR! I was despairing of getting anything acceptable from my landscape format original, I tried a square crop and that didn't work either - and then one or two of your portrait format bird shots popped into mind, so I tried cropping the central section at 3:4 ratio - and this image appeared Thank you!
I should add that I do agree with you about the problems of shooting them. This is the first photo I've ever taken in that aviary. I wouldn't even have bothered looking into it except that I noticed some other ZooChatters doing so, while I was failing to get anything with the capuchins.
Pertinax, I have did a little photography for the aquarium many years ago, but I have never done anything like postcards (or even sent photos to the Zoo's website).
