Thank you for posting the photo and congratulations on seeing it AND photographing it!! My wife and I took a trip to Haleakala NP in August of 2018, but it was a few days after Hurricane Lane and it rained the whole day (even at the top of the volcano) so I wasn't able to walk the trail at Hosmer Grove for the Iiwi. I did manage to find on Hawaii Amakihi and eight Apapane at a lower elevation, but my photos aren't good.
